The Employment Law Department’s team advises clients on all aspects of Employment Law and has vast experience representing both local and international clients regarding adherence to, and implementation of, the applicable provisions of Israeli law, thereby ensuring ongoing and comprehensive support in all diverse labor-related spheres. The department’s team is committed to upholding professional competence and proficiency and strives to remain constantly updated on all developments and innovations in the realm of Employment Law, whether pertaining to regulatory matters, case law and the like, or regarding the integration of artificial intelligence in HR-related policies and procedures, all aimed at providing highly efficient, exceptional and professional services.

 

Core Capabilities

  • Ongoing Support and Advice for Companies: the starting point and ultimate goal of the department’s team is to try and avoid labor-related disputes even before they materialize. Therefore, for decades, the department has been supporting government, public and private companies, including international companies, consistently and within the context of the routine and ordinary operations of the business, in order to maintain a healthy working environment, including in the realms of management, salary and pension, employment termination procedures and other issues related to the working relationship. In addition, the department advises companies on all aspects related to mergers and acquisitions (M&As), layoffs and workforce reorganization. The department also assists and advises on the procedures for investigating sexual harassment complaints and workplace abuse and supports and provides training to the competent personnel at the various employer organizations on these sensitive issues.
  • Unionized Work Advisory: The department’s team has substantial experience in supporting employee organizations, employer organizations or employers, in all areas pertaining to collective labour law, including accompanying the initial organizational stages, drafting complex collective agreements, implementation and interpretation of those agreements as well as accompanying [workplace] crises [threatened strike action] and [general] labour disputes.
  • Litigation: The department’s team accompanies employees and employers, both local and international, in an array of labor-law related legal proceedings (civil, criminal) pending before the relevant legal instances, including in cases involving injunctions, personal claims, labor disputes, class actions and the like, and also represents clients before [diverse work permit committees as well as in mediation or arbitration processes.
  • Esop and Compensation: The department’s team is highly experienced in adapting both employee stock option plans (ESOPs) and senior employment programs to ensure their due compliance with Israeli law, devising and implementing compensation plans as well as attending to issues covering non-compete practices, trade secrets and confidentiality, antitrust, and the like.
  • Employment Compliance: The department’s team assists employers and employees in handling proceedings before the competent governmental and regulatory authorities, including procuring permits related to the employment of women (pregnancy, maternity leave, fertility treatments, etc.), reservist personnel (Employment Committee of the Ministry of Defence) and foreign workers, as well as advising on the applicable provisions of the Enhanced Enforcement of the Labor Law, including the implementation of employer obligations and accompaniment in proceedings instituted against employers under the said law, etc.
