Adv. Yair Leibowitz is a partner in the Dispute Resolution Department at S. Horowitz, with decades of experience in complex civil-commercial litigation across all court instances.
Yair Leibowitz served as a combat pilot in the Israeli Air Force. Following his discharge, he graduated with honors from law school and completed his internship at the Supreme Court under Justice E. Goldberg, and subsequently at the law firm B. Levinbook & Co., where he served as senior partner until the firm’s merger with S. Horowitz.
Throughout his career, Yair Leibowitz has represented most of the major banks in Israel, investment houses, insurance companies, financial institutions, public and private companies, liquidators, trustees and court-appointed officeholders, foreign and international companies, businesspeople, and private clients. He has successfully managed complex, large-scale claims across all court instances.
Yair Leibowitz has extensive expertise in all areas of insurance law, including representing insurance companies and reinsurers, claims against insurance companies, liability and property insurance, banking insurance claims, and advising on policy drafting and insurance transactions. He has been involved in some of the largest and most complex Directors & Officers (D&O) insurance claims litigated in Israel, as well as numerous insurance disputes resolved out of court.
Yair Leibowitz also serves as an arbitrator and mediator in substantial commercial disputes, and lectures at various forums and academic and professional seminars on topics including directors’ and officers’ liability and issues in insurance law, exemption, and indemnification. He advises clients throughout the entire dispute lifecycle, from the pre-litigation stage, preparation, or attempts to prevent proceedings, through to resolution by judgment or settlement.
