Adv. Aharon (Anthony) Bloch heads the commercial department at S. Horowitz.

Aharon specializing in cross-border and domestic banking and financing, projects and project finance,  corporate law and M&A, as well as technology transfer. Known as a “brilliant lawyer and skillful negotiator with outstanding commercial acumen” according to Chambers Global, his practice encompasses financing of national infrastructure and corporate projects, as well as project work, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and and other commercial agreements  for major multinationals and Israeli conglomerates, as well as representation of clients in the field of tech transfer.

Aharon advises Israeli and international borrowers, lenders, and investors on all aspects of financing, including syndicated and non-syndicated loans, refinancing, acquisitions, mergers, corporate, asset, and project finance. His corporate/M&A, acquisition and project finance transactions and project activities span diverse sectors including satellite communication, telecom and mobile telephony, light railways, computer chips, retail supermarkets, hi-tech, chemicals, energy, food and beverage, automotive parts, electrical goods, packaging, and insurance. He brings over twenty-five years of experience representing Israeli academic institutions in technology transfer agreements and intellectual property commercialization.

Notable Representations

  • Representing lenders and then borrowers in the project financing of satellites in the Amos series (Amos 2 and Amos 6).
  • Representing the Israeli Infrastructure Fund in the unique preferred shares financing of the Dalia Power Station.
  • Represented lenders in a senior facility financing transaction on the management buyout of Delek Motors as well as advising Bank Hapoalim and the Manof Fund on mezzanine financing for the same buyout. Overall, the transaction had a value of around $400 million
  • Representing Pepsi in its joint venture with the Strauss Group (Elite) with regard to the Frito Lay salty snack products.Advising one of the big four accounting firms in its acquisition of a leading company in the management consulting field.
  • Represented The Association of Israeli Banks in their representations to the Goldschmidt Commission relating to participation of financial institutions in syndicated lending
  • Representing various players in the field of light railway projects, including representing the banks financing the Jerusalem Red Line, the EPC Contractor in the Jerusalem Blue Line and the Civil Works EPC Contractors in each of the Tel Aviv Green Line and the Haifa-Nazareth line
  • Represented a syndicate of banks on the €400 million financing of the acquisition of control of Atrium European Real Estate Ltd., a Jersey based publicly listed operator and developer of shopping centres in Central and Eastern Europe. The financing involved five different jurisdictions
  • Guided a syndicate of lenders led by Bank Mizrahi in the financing of Lumenis in connection with the acquisition of Lumenis by the XIO Group. The financing involved over 10 jurisdictions
  • Advised clients on the acquisition of banks in, inter alia, Turkey, Kazakhstan and Russia
