Dr. Silvy Wainschtein is a scientific advisor in the intellectual property department of the firm, where her practice focuses on infringement, opposition, validity of patents, opinion  and due-diligence with particular emphasis on patent litigation relating to pharmaceutical products and processes.

Silvy specializes in organic chemistry with emphasis in the fields of carbohydrate and polymer synthesis, molecule-characterization techniques, coating, biodegradation, and aspects of stereochemistry in particular of chiral drugs.

Silvy’s scientific background as well as her experience in the agricultural industry and as a patent attorney provide her with an excellent understanding of the technical and the intellectual property issues facing the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.

Silvy joined S. Horowitz in December 2022
