Dr. Silvy Wainschtein is a scientific advisor in the Intellectual Property Practice Group of the firm, where her practice focuses on infringement, opposition and validity of patents, with particular emphasis on patent litigation relating to pharmaceutical products and processes.

Silvy specializes in organic chemistry with emphasis in the fields of carbohydrate and polymer synthesis, molecule-characterization techniques, coating, biodegradation, and aspects of stereochemistry in particular of chiral drugs.

Silvy’s scientific background as well as her experience in the agricultural industry and as a patent attorney, provide her with an excellent understanding of the technical and the intellectual property issues facing the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.

Silvy is a registered Patent Attorney in Israel since 2019, and a member of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI).

Silvy joined S. Horowitz & Co. in December 2022.
