Tal Band, who is described by Chambers Global as “the most prominent IP litigator in Israel”, is a senior partner and member of the board at S. Horowitz, where he co-heads the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group.

Tal represents high-profile clients before the various Israeli courts and tribunals as well as before the Patent Authority in IP-related litigation and/or proceedings covering patents, trademarks, designs, copyright and the like. His work with Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., Israel’s largest IP litigant and a global pharmaceutical giant, encompasses comprehensive patent litigation, regulatory work and strategic IP counsel. Notable representations in this context include handling numerous patent litigations, involving blockbuster drugs that generate over USD 1 billion in annual sales. Tal also acts for key clients such as Google, Waze Mobile Ltd., ISCAR and LEGO, in addition to advising premier Technology Transfer Offices (TTOs) and reputable academic institutions on IP-related issues specific to their operations or activities.

Moreover, Tal’s commitment to fostering and advancing IP law extends beyond his day-to-day practice. For example:

  • Tal chairs the IP Committee of the Israel Bar Association
  • Tal served as President of the Israel Chapter of AIPPI (2004-2016) and also played an active role in AIPPI’s international leadership program by chairing its statutory Membership Committee
