Adv. Sarit Arieli Ben Simchon brings over 20 years of experience in planning and construction law, administrative law, and real estate law, alongside an extensive public-sector background in senior roles at planning institutions and the State Attorney’s Office.

Sarit joined the firm following a seven-year tenure as Chair of the Planning and Building Appeals Committee for the Jerusalem District, covering planning, licensing, compensation, and betterment levies.

In this quasi-judicial role, Sarit led complex multi-party hearings, authored hundreds of decisions, and shaped planning policy across a wide range of issues, including TAMA 38 and urban renewal, evacuation-construction, plan interpretation, betterment levies, diminution of value claims under Section 197, and consolidation and re-parceling plans.

Sarit currently serves as a member of the Professional Subcommittee for the update of Valuation Standard 15.1.

Prior to this role, Sarit served as Legal Counsel to the District Planning and Building Committees in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, and to the National Committee for the Preservation of the Coastal Environment, providing ongoing legal counsel to committee plenary sessions and subcommittees, drafting legal documents and statutory plans, and participating in legislation and regulation processes.

Earlier in her career, she served for approximately a decade as a Senior State Attorney at the Jerusalem District Attorney’s Office (Civil Division), managing complex cases in administrative, planning, construction, and real estate law, and representing government ministries and public authorities before various courts.

Sarit lectures and leads professional courses in planning and construction law at various academic institutions, including serving as course director of the Urban Renewal course at the Real Estate Center, and is considered a leading voice in the professional discourse in this field.
