Adv. Tal Band, senior partner and Head of the Intellectual Property Practice Group of our firm, participated in the 2019 Israel Industry Conference, hosted by the Israeli Manufacturers’ Association. The conference’s theme this year was “A Journey Through the World’s Leading Models” and Adv. Band took part in a fascinating panel on the “Israeli Industry and Social-Economic Resilience”, moderated by Noga Nir Ne’eman and hosting prominent figures in the Israeli business and political sectors. Within the various topics discussed at the panel, Tal presented recent amendments made to patent laws in Europe, which create a supportive legal and business environments to generic drug manufacturers in Europe, thus rendering the Israeli industry at a disadvantage. Ms. Naama Kaufman, Deputy Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Economy and Industry, assured the ministry is looking at the issue.
